[He could accept that she wasn't aiming to sacrifice herself. That was satisfactory for now.]
It's a secret technique, a Joestar family secret technique. When the odds are against you and you may just die, you take one good look at your enemy in the eyes, puff up your chest---
And then run away as fast as you can!
[It may be a Joestar technique, but it started with him.]
I know what you're thinking. Sounds cowardly, right?
But it's really a distraction. If you're trying to protect someone, you make yourself the target by fleeing and making a lot of noise. And while you're running, you have time to think of a backup plan.
At least, you only need to use that if you're out of options in the first place. I've used it to draw monsters away from crowds of bystanders before.
[He's always trying to be funny, but making sure no one gets hurt is priority number one, even if it doesn't look that way to others sometimes.]
That's how I do it, anyway. I'm strong, but being crafty has saved my skin more times than my power ever will.
So... uh. How do you approach a fight?
[Now that he's been... rambling.... and making himself sound really stupid, probably.]
[Yeah, she gets that he's trying to be funny but this feels a little...serious mostly.
He seems really worried about her. Like, super worried that she just charges right into things.]
That depends on the fight. I mean, if we're talking about a serious fight from home, I'd try my best to disable the other guy before they even knew I was there.
True, I guess that could be considered wasteful. Unless we were suddenly attacked and needed weapons to defend ourselves! But I guess we're not too worried about that here?
Aaah, don't be a tease, now I want to see all your cool tricks, and there's no way to show me without using somebody's power.
I've no idea. I've heard of the parasitic flowers, and I might be able to do something about it. Actually, maybe you, Jonathan and I could but close contact is...a bad idea.
Sorry Jojo. I don't wanna waste a thing, but maybe we'll find something, eventually.
I haven't encountered the parasitic flowers myself, and I've only heard a little about them. Maybe we could set traps for them? Hire a gardener, find some weedkiller?
They must not be that huge a threat if we're not hearing much about them right now. I say we figure out how to get some weedkiller and arm ourselves with squirt guns filled with it. It could even be fun!
[He knows the hard part is actually getting the stuff, but brainstorming is the first step.]

[Was he trying to be funny, or was he trying that hard to make sure she wouldn't get hurt? She couldn't tell.]
I...see? It sounds hard?
[Should she just agree, even if she really can't stomach the thought of leaving someone behind? She doesn't know.]

You know there are training grounds here, right? Do you ever do target practice with that bow of yours?
no subject
And I do, Jonathan told me. But I don't. Not with my powers; I'm worried it'd drain me too quickly.
Maybe there's actual bows and arrows around here?
no subject
If not I'm sure Mikado or someone else could make them.
Think you could shoot an apple off someone's head, like in William Tell?
no subject
Maybe! But I'd rather not waste their power on something that might be made, or salvaged.
But yeah, I could. I could do the outline, or...hm, what are some other shooting tricks...
Let's just say yes. Apple off of someone's head is child's play.

I understand. Someday.

Mm, someday. Promise.

That, or go overtop and dump a bucket of weedkiller on the patch.

Oh my god, that's like some monster in a movie. Once we find a safe way to take care of them, we're doing that, but for now I'm staying the hell away.
Anyway, we were talking about what we didn't know about each other before, weren't we? If you think of any more questions, I'm ready to answer.
no subject
Ah...I can't really think of any for now. How about...we just let them pop up whenever? You can ask me things, and I'll ask you things.
no subject
I can't think of any more for now, but... it's about time for my jog.
[A celebratory jog.]
If you want to come too, you'll have to catch me. If not, then I'll catch you later.
[And unless she took him up on that offer, he'd be out of contact for a good hour or so.]
no subject
[Was that her influence...maybe it was.]
I think I'll catch you later. Maybe I'll jog with you tomorrow?
Either way, I'll talk to you soon~
[Gosh though this really...it felt nice, it really did.]
